Who said I'm a one drug store kind of girl?

So I really never thought this day would come for me. In fact, I was nervous to branch out of my Rite Aid bubble. However, I tackled CVS for the first time this evening!!!! I have been "studying up" on all of the coupon blogs and had a really successful trip!
Here is what I did...
Huggies Mega Pack Size 6- (on clearance for $4.49...I know this is a huge size but it was the only one left)
-$1.50 coupon from this Sunday's paper
Four packs of Stayfree- BOGO sale in store ($3.69 each)
-2 BOGO coupons from this Sunday's paper
Bengay Massage....thingy?- $5.99 (huge sale as these are usually $9.99)
-$5.00 coupon printable from bengay's website I believe
Rimmel Mascara- (clearanced for $1.87)
Rimmel lipstick- (clearanced for $1.32)
-$1.00 coupon (stockpile)
I also recently signed up for CVS emails and for their advisor club. They emailed me a $4 off of $20 coupon to use.
My total before savings was $55.35
My total after savings and coupons was $0.18!!!
The better news is I earned $2 in Extra Care Bucks for purchasing the Bengay!!! Imagine the damage I could have done if I still had one of those $3.00 Huggies coupons...
:)
Stay tuned for more CVS scenarios since Rite Aid is really chapping my britches.

My Rite Aid Trip 6/27/10

Above is what I purchased today. Total out of pocket was around 30 cents for a combination of two transactions. Please see previous posts for deal matchups. I did earn ten dollars in UP rewards that did not print. The very kind store manager gave me ten dollars from the register. Thus, I got all of these items, $10 in cash, and $2.49 SCR for the purchase of the Crest toothpaste. Don't forget to use your BOGO coupon from this week's Red Plum insert at Rite Aid this week because they are running the BOGO sale. Therefore, two free with only one coupon! :)

Why I do this...

So many people are critical of coupon shoppers claiming how "they must have so much time on their hands" or "coupons can't save you that much money." In light of today's video value Rite Aid change (see previous post) I decided to reflect on my May and June Rite Aid shopping. I have kept all of my receipts from May and June and I decided to do my 2 month totals.

My total paid at the register for the Month of May and June= $30.26

My total Single Check Rebates received for May and June= $59.98

Thus a profit of $29.72 for shopping at Rite Aid these two months. Better yet, I am expecting a $30 Rite Aid gift card in the mail any day now for "purchasing" certain items.

More impressively, my total savings including Wellness and coupon for the months of May and June was... $1, 389!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Therefore, I got paid $29.72 and a $30 gift card for buying $1,389 worth of products in only 2 months time.

I really wish I would have kept track since January so I could do an end of the year figure!

So, yes it does take some time to coupon shop (just ask my husband..haha) but I certainly think it's worth it. What do you think?

MAYDAY, Rite Aid Shoppers!

It is a sad, sad day in the world of Rite Aid. Turns out that the new July video values are only good for a ONE TIME use. Before, you could print multiple copies and they would work just fine, now each coupon has an individual barcode :( so only one can be used per month! I knew this day was coming and that is sort of why I have stockpiled so much of everything. I understand why they have to do this but it still makes me sad :(

Good news is that you can still use your June ones (if you printed them already) as many times as you'd like (just as before).

My Rite Aid Trip 6/20/10

In other words, I "purchased" things that enabled an +UP reward to print. I also used my free diaper voucher in the second transaction. Check out my post from yesterday to see the coupon matchups.

  4. Aveeno Shampoo- $4.99-$2.0o video value (can be viewed)- $1.00 coupon (stockpile)

  3. Blink Tears- $7.99
  4. Gillette Fusion Proglide razor- $5.00
  5. Old Spice fresh collection when you buy 2- $2.00

So according to my calculations I made a total profit of $20.24 for shopping today!!!!!!

So you may be saying "does she really use this stuff?" and the answer is yes, for the most part. However, I sometimes "buy" certain items to make a profit or make others free. For instance, I have no use for 6 pairs of kids sunglasses but if they are buy one get one for 50% off and are only $7.99 to begin with it makes it two pairs for $11.98. I then use two sunglass coupons for 10 dollars each and I make a profit of $8.02. I also made $2.00 on the Blink Tears (I don't really know what this is for) but I am willing to buy it to make other things free.

I actually messed up today and "purchased" the wrong batteries. I was supposed to get the 8 packs to get a $5.00 rebate. I will return later this week after I work another transaction so that I can make a total profit of around $25 for this week.

How did you do this week? I would love to know if you tried any transactions!
